Description
Finally my "Vegeta is" is ready. Hallellujah! It took months, firtst because of a broken scan (it is still broken, I´m currently paying my scanning), then a burnt computer and a serie of other troubles. But it´s finally ready.This is my submission for "Character Is" Project. nillia.deviantart.com/journal/…
For who doesn´t know, it´s a satyric serie about the abuses used against our poor dear characters in the fanfics... so many absurds, and Vegeta is by afar one who suffers most!
I had planned to explain pannel by pannel, as I have seen some do... but I thought it could look boring. So I´ll prefer explaining at the reviews, instead, it´ll be funnier for both sides.
[Edit] My art has improved through the years and I'm considering seriously redoing these drawings digitally. Whaddya think?

what i meant is that the abuse SilverLady7 is saying Vegeta suffer from is in bad fanfiction, which has nothing to do with canon, although Yamcha also suffers from a bad fanfiction cliche, the one about him being a weakling, the saibaman thing made him the butt-monkey of every joke, basically treated as the DBZ Magikarp

i actually don't know where the "Yamcha cheats on Bulma" thing came from, i didn't watch all of OG DB, i think Futue Trunks says someting about that in the android saga but i'm not sure

tem fanfics que a Chi-Chi é extremamente abusiva com o Gohan, mas pensando bem, acho que não tem diferentes versões "fanon" dela pra fazer um desses

Exato. Eu já vi fics em que ela também é extremamente cruel com Goku, a ponto de expulsá-lo de casa, mas... sei lá, acho que falta material. Não dá nem pra dizer "ela não bate nos outros com frigideira", pq ela aparece usando a frigideira naquele especial do Tarble.

numa fanfic que eu tava lendo uma vez o Bardock foi vítima da frigideira da Chichi (é meio q uma longa história oq o Bardock tava fazendo ali)
outra coisa q eu vejo bastante em fanfics de DBZ, mas não sobre algum personagem específico, é o uso de algo q as fanfics chamam de "ki restraints", q eu nunca entendi o que é pra ser

Hum... uma das primeiras fics de DBZ que eu li, tinha o Bardock vivendo com os Sons, depois que resgataram ele durante uma viagem no tempo. Infelizmente, a fic estava cheia de OCs atrapalhando e tinha umas bobagens, como a Bulma fazendo panquecas com ovos podres, então larguei.
Ki restraints são muito comuns em AUs (restraint é algo que restringe), fics com universos alternativos, e alguns lemons, também. Em geral, são usadas para diminuir a força dos Saiyajins, impedindo-os de se energizar. Eu me acostumei a ver fics em que Vegeta é escravizado com esses negócios (geralmente na forma de algemas). Tem umas fics em que a Bulma inventa essas coisas para... bem, digamos que certas atividades noturnas ficam mais interessantes se o Saiyajin fogoso não puder se soltar com facilidade. Na minha fic Indomado, Vegeta não pode usar o ki, mas... digamos que estou sendo um pouco mais criativa em relação a isso (você acha a fic no Spiritfanfiction e no Nyah).

na fanfic q eu tinha lido, quando o Freeza destruiu o planeta Vegeta, o Bardock foi capturado e preso numa sala que o tempo não passava, então algum tempo antes do que seria a saga Freeza, ele é resgatado de lá por um OC super saiyajin, e começa a treinar pra ajudar o Goku nas lutas, eu não lembro o nome da fanfic então não consigo achar de novo, mas eu tenho procurado ela

I used to read lots of BxV fanfics, but then I lost interest on them because of those stupid clichés.
Now that I'm not into DBZ anymore I don't read fanfics related to it, but I'm sure those clichés still exist.
The cliche that used to piss me off a lot is the 'pervert' one. Vegeta was always portrayed as a ladiesman, who was sooo good in bed and had so many lovers.
Those fangirls really have imagination.

I agree with you on the 'perverted ladies man' Vegeta fanfic cliche, given how prudish and antisocial Vegeta is in canon. Not only is it ooc, but I find it sexist: "he's a tough guy, so he MUST be more experienced than Bulma who's virgin saving sex for marriage despite her long-term relationship with Yamcha!"
(I highly doubt Bulma was virgin when she first slept with Vegeta. I'm not saying Yamcha "claimed" her by probably being her first sexual experience or that Bulma's a whore, but I am sick to death of BV stories where Bulma's a virgin.)

WHich is really absurd. I don't think that Vegeta had much time to think about women, back to his old days under Freeza's sway.
I put the "pervert" thing because sometimes I think the fics... overdo too much about the sex part, as if Vegeta would be unable to think of anything

We still don't have confirmation if Vegeta doesn't have a bunch of illegitimate children from his days as a space pirate. It's probable, since Trunks was born from a rut

It's kind of implied. If you look at Bulma and Vegeta's relationship at the beginning of the Android saga it was more mutual passion and lust than actual love. The two only came to truly respect and care for each other by the Cell Saga's end, as part of Vegeta's character development

These are not braids, they are chains. That was before I learned coloring drawings with Photoshop. I´m afraid that changing the size of the drawings to make they fit in the pannels made them a little confusing.

I was upset at a few fics that showed Vegeta abusing of Trunks psicologica and physically, under the "man thing" excuse, so I draw Veggie as a nazi.
I believe that Vegeta is a stern dad, but not mean. Some people make critics because he "punched poor kid Trunks", but damn, that was a reflexive act, like the kick you do when the doctor hits your knee, and Vegeta´s face made crystal clear that he regretted that.
