this isn't done, but i wanted to uploaded this as a tool to beginners... one of the hardest things, i've learned, with drawing and coloring... is shading and tinting...

Shading is the shadows that are on a person or object, and tinting is the lighter part. as you can see in this pic, i've created the base color, and then made a darker shade of that SAME color and a lighter version. where the shade and tint go is up to the artist, and depends on were the light is coming from. for example, the two chara's are under a uprooted tree, so the light is coming from in front of them. there is also shading and tinting in the eyes as well. the skin that overlaps the eyes in a sonic style, so there is a shadow anyways, but i went and added an extra layer of shading. (because i felt like it... deal with it! lol luvs) the eyes are shaded/tinted almost like the metals, (silver's boots, arm accessories/ topaz' wave pattern on shirt, belt) these vary on how you can color, and (to my stupidity) is hard to explain.... sorry....

(all advise was from my research, mainly from studying other artist styles, little is known from art classes... yet. originality is advised. and have fun!!!! for the best results, don't stress over artwork, let it flow and take it's own shape!!!)
