Description
The partial collapse of a unit in the same complex as our offices in Christchurch New Zealand. This follows the earthquake of 13th June 2011 of magnitude 6.3, 8 on Modified Mercali scale)

The slabs are about 5" or 125mm thick and are bolted onto the outside of the braces of the building to provide strength as well as aesthetics.

As you can see the left hand slabs have fallen while the right ones are seriously distorted (did you know concrete could bend like this ?) due to the central bearer collapsing
