I completely agree, I would too. Then again restoring it will make it last so much longer than it would in its current state.

Not necesarrily, you can clear coat it as it is and it will last just as long.

Hm, true. Then again this isn't my truck to begin with and owner pretty much made it clear to restore it.
My own car has great patina as well, but I would rather have the body and paint that it once had. Everyone is entitled their opinion, that's just my point of view.
