Kairos doesn’t have an invisible/spirit instrument but he instead uses his voice to compensate, however people usually don’t hear it because he doesn’t like singing in public.

He was born covered in his ‘tattoos’ to symbolize not only his shadow abilities but also Wizeman’s ownership of him, which is why he usually wears a lot of concealing attire. He also feels very uncomfortable in his own skin because of them. His shadow abilities are very specific to himself, in the fact they take the form of the ‘ink’ in his tattoos. When he uses his shadow ability to fight his ink shifts around his body and can be used in a number of ways, such as flicked off in a projectile form, created as a coat or ‘second skin’ for armour purposes, or used to create his own weaponry –for example, he will command his ink to move down his arms and turn them into blades for either defence or offence.

If ordered to he will collect Ideya on the front lines despite how terrified he is of using his shadows. The way he does this is usually a combination of both attributes he controls, such as tapping into the ‘darkness’ of Visitors hearts that stem from memories and using it against them by creating a false reality and future. This is designed to make them surrender their hearts to complete emotional and mental desolation, which can sometimes be so effective and traumatic it will affect the Visitor even after they awaken. Using such a combination of abilities leaves him totally exhausted however and he usually has to recover, and if he’s disturbed during the process it can cause incredible damage to him. Which is why he was never partnered with anyone out on the battlefield and usually refuses to be around anyone else when he’s collecting –because god forbid if a fellow Nightmaren was caught in his field of altered reality.

Kairos is a strong believer in fate and the idea that you can’t change the future, which is both a hindrance and an advantage given his future sight. As in, if something good is going to happen he has something to look forward to, but if something awful is destined to happen he has no way of escaping it, so it will stress him out. His power can be used to see futures beyond his own as well, which means he is able to sense and see other’s timelines fairly easily.

Kairos’ crystal ball is something he has trouble functioning without on his bad days. He was given it when he was around a teenager by Wizeman in order to help clear his mind and focus his abilities so they wouldn’t run rampant in his mind and only end up exhausting him. Sometimes instead of sleeping he just rests with his crystal orb all for the longest time, in order to settle whatever worries, stresses and anxieties he has. Which doesn’t help much anyway, but it does allow him peace for at least a day or so.

Unlike many other Nightmaren, Kairos was created with his Persona and for all of his early life he never took it off his face. This was because his Persona was created to be a ‘blinding mask’ of sorts, which not only shielded him from becoming self-aware but also enhanced his understanding of his own senses. For the longest time he wasn’t even aware of the world around him and instead remained in darkness because of his Persona.

His original hair colour was black, but after going through his ‘repair’ it became white from the stress on his body and mind.
