Comission for *tani-tiger [no longer a deviant]*well, I finished one comission in a weekend*
This is just another one that took me way more time than it should have. And is a real reminder that I seriously need to change my art media... I love colouring pencils, don't get me wrong, plus they've become a sort of a trademark media of mine, but especially with artwork that I'm trying to sell, an outcome this bad won't please much anyone and is thus unacceptable. [pssst, :devcalikocatt:, how'd you like a watercolour work for your comission?]
Tara herself said she could deal with it as it is though, so I might aswell just cut the un-needed crap right here...
Characters are from her well known Outcast Bandicoot-series, with the additional character of her boyfriend Steve. *the upper left character*

I like and love this awesome artwork very much of Crunch and Tani's three children, Steve and his mate's child, and Tawna's Child in which Tiny is the father(now exposed) and not Crash because he doesn't have offspring yet or neither does Coco yet!!!!!!

Yeeeeah, there's this big commission on school related matters that requires all of my artistic attention, so that'll make DA-related ones even more unlikely. :/ I'd be honored to do something for you again eventually, though! XDDD

I can certainly tell this took a long time! Good artwork generally does take a long time to do.
I really like the jungle-ish trees, and the stars dotting the sky.
There is nothing wrong with using colored pencils. >:E I can tell you're getting better with those, I see a lot of blending and some good shading in the sky, water, and their hair. You're good on highlights, but I think there could be a LOT more shadows, that way it would give the pic a LOT more depth!
Your coloring usually leaves room for improvement, but I've always found that your fabulous lineart makes up for it and brings a lot of life to your work.
IMO, I've always found paint a harder medium than colored pencil. Because of, well, the wetness, it messes up a lot easier.

MUCH longer than it should have. It was a project as big as my previous deviation I uploaded *the Powerpuff Girls one* but that one I finished in a matter of days, where this took more than months. O___o; The original lineart's from last year, for Christs sakes. XD
I think my careful plannings, aswell as moods play a huge part in my drawings and how fast I can finish them... I do need to be faster with my comissions though, since it's something people payed money for! >: (
And I agree on the shadows with you, my biggest issue with them and lights is that I've never been properly trained how to treat them, *no matter how I begged our art-teacher back in middle school, but she was into more different medias than techniques* also I may, ridiculously enough, end up falling in love with non-shaded colours so much I'm just plain afraid of touching them any more than that. XD Lame excuse, I know!
And as for watercolour and wetness, I think they make special paper for that, which doesn't get as wrinkled up as a regular paper would.

More than months? In the words of Crash, Woah!
My high school art teacher did not like flat artwork. X) She always went on and on about how we needed highlights and shadows and simulated textures.
Yeah, I use that paper when I paint.
By wetness, I meant that you don't have to worry about pencils or crayons spilling color everywhere or drying up, etc. Plus, if you blend paint, odds are you will never be able to blend and wind up with that exact shade again. XD It's different with pencils.
