I'M FLOATING!Check out my sweet Scarlet Witch costume. I'm going to get and/or make better boots.
This image was photoshopped only to brighten it. It was horribly back-lit. (I was in shadow) BUT THAT IS IT!

I'm sitting on the hand-rail of the stairs. I draped my cape between it because it was fashioned with two bars and space between them. Then I sat down on it and my friend angled herself juuuuussst right to take the photo. My cape hides the rail and the illusion is created that I'm floating.
Plus it adds that the steps are going down so it makes it seem I'm even higher up. Like all magic, it can be explained away.

That is an awesome costume. Only problem is that the headdress looks kinda flat like cardboard. I'd say you need to add something to make it look more "creased" (for lack of a better word). Other than that it looks pretty good (even the boots lol).

Oh I know, the adhesive I was using was coming off and making it bothersome, but it had conformed to my face. It's a happy malleable material, but it was being troublesome. But thanks for the critique!
And trust me, I had SO many issues with those boots. Ugh. Never again. Epic fail.
