Description This picture is based of the true story of Hachiko (in Ginga style)
If you dont know the story of Hachiko, here it is:
a professor in Japan, in the 1920s, Hidesaburō Ueno of the University of Tokyo, bought an akita as a pup named Hachiko. After a year, Hachiko would follow his owner to the train station everyday to see of his owner to work. And later at 5:00 pm, Hachiko would return to the train station to meet the return of his owner. This was a consistent ritual for 2 years. But sadly, Ueno died at his job and could not meet Hachiko at the station.
His family took in Hachiko, but every day for the next 10 years, Hachiko returned to the station at 5:00 and waited.
Hachiko died at the train station where he last saw his owner.
The citizens of Japan were so moved by his loyalty, they built a bronze statue in his honor which still stands today.
This drawing is based of the American adaptation movie of this story starring Richard Gere, which btw was a great movie and you should watch it.

I saw both versions of Hachiko and I loved the Richard Gere version even though its only fiction and parallels the real Hachi and his owner's life.

Awww! He's much cuter in Ginga! And for ones who are wondering what hachi died from, he died of cancer (forgot the other one look up "Hachiko" on Wikipedia.)

"Hachi: A Dog's Tale" is probably the second most tear-jerking film I've ever watched. The most tear-jerking film I've seen is "Grave of the Fireflies". (I bawled like a baby through that one! )

I remember that story, so sad, yet I can't help but feel a bit of odd joy to know he was reunited with the guy.
