Haha, I'm glad I could provide some inspiration! I'd say working wth big blocks of light and shadow is the most important thing to get that nice tight look of depth - it's so easy getting stuck in the details and then when you zoom out the shading's all over the place. Big blocks it is, and a nice consistent light source (or three)

This turned out really great, I really love the colours and mood, and the subtle shadow of Malachite in the background. I saw this on Tumblr and was really excited to see it. The parts with these guys have been some of my favourites in the show, so it's cool to see your take on them 
I don't really comment very often, but I just wanted to take the time to thank you. If it weren't for you, I probably never would have picked up this delightful show that I have since fallen in love with, so thank you for that <3

It's definitely something I've been thinking about, though I don't have any solid plans quite yet. I would probably like to draw Lapis eventually, with or without Jasper involved, seeing how I really love painting watery motifs and working with blue colours. I found a lot of the imagery in the Ocean gem episode absolutely lovely, so I might do something inspired by that.
