A throwaway graphite drawing that I decided to colour.When stuck staring down at a blank piece of paper, I find the best way forward is to start blocking in simple shapes that make up an interesting silhouette – the rest can be thought about later. Mushrooms are one of my all time favourite silhouettes because a) they're super easy and b) they're like funny little people. They practically draw themselves.

Awesome! Very nice of you to say. I always find time lapses fascinating, but never have a great setup lighting-wise, nor do I have a tripod or even a real camera. I usually set them up on precariously balanced piles of perfectly sized books, boxes and a mug. My screen did all the work here though, haha.

It looked super professional to me. I proposed an article to the editor of an art magazine I write for on how and why artists can incorporate videos onto their website to improve their marketing. Your time lapse is a great example of that. If she gives me the green light on that story soon, would you like to included in the piece? We could have a link to Shroombrero or other time lapses you have done and I would just need you to answer a few questions via email about how you make them and what the response to them is etc...
