Description Okay, this be a little piece I did on me birthday this year, St. Patty's Day...for uber freakishness, I'm seventeen now...lol.

This would be a sketch of Anna Paquin's Rogue character from the upcoming X3 movie. I was uberly surprised that her face turned out quite well, and I really like the hair...I used the Take A Stand poster as a reference and altered her costume a bit...such as the X bit on her chest that's semi covered by her hair...that's a bit of a homage to Evo Rogue...because if you look closely, you'll see that her chestplate is actually a green stretched 'X'. I then changed up her gloves a bit...so they look sort of more like the gloves Rogue had from her classic green and gold uniform...I also wanted to give her those sort of knee pads on her knees...that sort of corded leather part like Wolvie has and some big bad combat boots! LOL! For her face, I took that directly from the 'Take A Stand' poster...but then I did her eyes and nose from another pic of her that I found posted on thexverse's forum. and I also changed up the pose and the belt buckle...and lastly, I lengthened the hair...

Enjoy!

Wow, nice job on the hair and proportions. Just one thing, though: she seems to be in a rather uncomfortable position. Her right hip (her right) should stick out a little more, maybe. Only a thought Great piece though.

I agree, I really like the way the hair turned out in this. I have to say that it's the highlight of the picture. And I think you've really cpatured Anna Paquin's features - in a stylised way, but there's really something of her in there. I think you need to experiment more with shading... but obviously that'll come with practice... Overall this is a very pleasing picture and really shows that you're coming along.

Yup, this is one of those pieces that I'll probably come back to later on and do the whole shading thing...shading is one of those things that I'm not too prone to do, unless in Art class, they've come up nicely...but I haven't found myself purposely going out of my way to do it, for some reason...I know I have to at some point...but I think it's because I'm such a nitpicker anyway, that I'd spend WAY too much time perfecting it. But I agree. Plus, I didn't have all me necessary pencils at the time...and I'm prone to like dark rich colours, tones and textures...so yeah...I heart darkness...lol.

But yeah, I'll probably come back to this eventually to do my tones...I think to me, this was more about getting the general lines and what not. I tend to be more of a line drawer....In fact, you can tell my attentiveness in any of my classes by the ammount of things I draw...which is nice, because I'm never out of art practice I suppose but yeah.

I am TOTALLY squealing that you left me a comment! Squee! So honoured!

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!

You're welcome. I agree at any rate - shading takes a long time to get used to and I wasn't slating that element of your picture at all... I'm still working on shading too! So yeah... practice makes perfect as usual.

Look forward to seeing this when and if it's ever finished.
