Do you use a program for them?

Of course. This was done with Krita, which is a great opensource (and therefore free) software that I recommend for beginners. It has all the most important tools and the development team is really active and keeps adding new features.
I transitioned to photoshop a year ago when I decided to start studying to become a professional artist. Photoshop is the most powerful, versatile and professional too, but it also comes with a subscription fee.

Well, from looking at your gallery, I'd say you've definitely got what it takes.
It's easier to do this than some of the realistic pencil drawings you've done.
If you don't have the skills, you've definitely got the talent. With the right teaching, you'd be able to do this in no time.

Well, I started drawing a long time ago, but only got serious about it in 2013.
I started painting in colour in 2014.
There's actually very few skills involved in making this painting.

I want to start off by saying, that this is very breathtaking. It is hard to tell if it is the sunset or a wildfire, but I am going for sunset, since it seems a bit of the sun is peeking over the mountain.
Next I want to say, "Thank you for the Llama."

What it is is open to interpretation.
It was inspired by a sunset (see link in description) but it reminded me of a comet and I decided to make it a forked tail. That it looks like a wildfire is not completely intentional. It's one of those "happy accidents" of painting. In the end, it was so striking that it ended up making the title.

I can see it, as a comet, which I didn't before, until you mentioned it just now and though I am not looking on your page, I can close my eyes and see the painting. That doesn't happen to me very often and is the reason I choose to paint from photo, instead of memory.
You must be a follower or student of Bob Ross. I, too, adopted his saying and think, "Oh, well, maybe my 'Happy accident' will grow into something even more wonderful.

I don't actually know Bob Ross, but I agree with his philosophy.

As, do I, and I don't know him personally either, But...Being a follower or student of his doesn't mean that one knows him.
That just simply means that you agree/believe his philosophy and adopted it, as your own...Being his student, could just be like me, someone who watches him on TV and tries to learn his techniques that way.

Thank you very much! I don't time myself when I paint and I don't remember too well, but probably something like two or three hours.

Thanks. Pastel is the only traditional color medium I have any experience with so I designed a brush that feels kinda like it. Glad you like it.
