"There is a story that tells that once upon a time there was a woman, who one day found a bird with feathers as black as night. That bird was known in the area for doing all kinds of misdeeds for its own pleasure and profit. That woman one day found that bird wounded in one of its wings, but ignoring the bird's past, the woman helped it and cured it. That bird began to feel during her recovery how her heart warmed up, beginning to feel love, an emotion that she had already forgotten when she had felt it the last time. Even recovered, the bird refused to leave the woman who had cared for and loved her, even knowing all that she had done in the past. But one day, that woman found the bird dead in the cage she had bought for her. The woman took the bird's corpse, which turned to ashes. The woman could not believe it. The woman let a tear fall on the bird's ashes. Ashes that began to glow, and in a blinding brightness, that black feathered bird showed its true form, a form that slept inside her. A phoenix. A phoenix that swore to protect that woman who loved her even knowing the evil she had done."

The awakening of this form of Cinder was achieved by several factors, including having fused the powers of the Fall Maiden with her Cloneblade.

But another factor was acceptance. Cinder could not accept herself. She truly regretted and regretted all the crimes she had done. But she knew she had to move on and accept everything she had done, that was her past and she should live with it, no matter if they hated her, she would accept it. Did she deserve forgiveness? She would rather those people she made suffer decide for her. Beginning to accept herself.

If I had to mention one of Cinder's powers in this form, it would be the one that gives this form its name. Yes, the ability to revive herself as a phoenix would do from its ashes, and do it with more power.

Cinder in this form exposes her robotic arm given to her by S.H.I.E.L.D., an arm that would be covered by what appears to be volcanic rock, which Cinder can manipulate at will.
