When I was little my grandparents caught a sparrow just like this one and tied it's leg to a tree by a thin rope...I was excited about he bird and then it pecked the rope  with its beak and it flew away..... At the moment I was upset but all these years after I'm so happy about the bird.....It was good to look at it from up-close for a while....Made me love birds more...Certainly a bird must be left to roam free.... Just like other creatures.....
The funny thing is that the sparrow had a nest with its' family in the roof of our house so....The bird was close-by anyway......
The great-great grand - children  of that sparrow are still nesting in the roof of our house.....So cute !!!

Really? So you still see sparrows often That's a nice story. Do you leave them some food? This drawing was inspired by my grandfather, he had special connection with one sparrow, he would often talk about him.. It's interesting how big bond we can have with other species, specially this small..

Wow, I luv your story.......... Yes I leave them crumbs and seeds when possible but those sparrows do pretty good by themselves as there are a lot of worms and insects in the garden so they feed themselves........
But whenever I see sparrows that are in trouble of finding food, I give them what I have !

Thank you inspiration was actually my grandfather, who was spending majority of the year alone in his ranch, where every day he would feed the birds and become specially fond of one on them..but i love your interpretation also, i agree

That's too bad... May he rest in peace! Fortunately, you have beautiful and vivid memories about him, and his real life situations are a source of inspiration for your drawings, so I guess that's all that matters!
