Description Apophysis 205z+ and PSP 9

I made a basic tile fractal and then tried a few different FX transforms. One created the main image and another the borders. The images were put together in PSP 9 and the straight lines drawn,

Apologies for late reply.

Thank you. I can't stop playing with patterns and feel I haven't quite got to where I want to go with them yet. I like the way it turned out with the borders and might try it again with a few more pieces.

Awww thanks Phil

Over the weekend I should manage to start going through the 300 odd images in my devwatch. I'm so looking forward to it but I have to get some 'work' out of the way first, then I can relax and enjoy.

would you mind me asking what variation you used for the final transform for the central part? I want to try something with one of my flames.. it's ok if you want to keep the secret though

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Siminart In reply to esintu [2006-12-08 19:12:02 +0000 UTC]

S'no secret, it was Spherical. Just play with it and see what you get. Sometimes it's the simple things that produce the best results.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

esintu In reply to Siminart [2006-12-09 20:38:15 +0000 UTC]

I'll definitely try that, thank you I actually use spherical quite a lot with my flames, but I never tried it with a tiled flame..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Siminart In reply to esintu [2006-12-09 22:26:01 +0000 UTC]

I've tried all sorts of different tiling methods and each method produces a different result with the FX transform, it's well worth playing with as you might find one tiling method suits what you are doing better than another, depending on what you want for your end result

Siminart In reply to Kaish [2006-12-08 17:40:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, it is the same fractal (a pattern) with different FX transforms. I had the idea to do this and then figured out which variations would produce the desired result. I'm going to try some different ones on different patterns and see what happens.

Thank you so much. I'm playing with the idea of creating images using the same basic fractal for all aspects of the main image, I love experimenting

2BORN02B In reply to Siminart [2006-12-08 16:09:13 +0000 UTC]

Great idea.

I think anyone who naturally likes to experiment, is just drawn to flame programs and then what you can do with them. These programs can be so random at times that they just force you to play. You really have little choice in the matter. Anyone who doesn't like to play/experiment, or who doesn't play well, just don't get it. If you're like me, you play so much that you end up throwing away or storing at least ten variations of the image you finally submit!

Take care!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Siminart In reply to 2BORN02B [2006-12-08 17:23:55 +0000 UTC]

Um, I have to make a new flame file for each day I play. Often that gets filled up with 50 images and sometimes I have to start a b) file for that day too. Often I don't submit anything I've made as I'm just playing and trying different variations on a theme to see "what happens if . . . . " (which will probably be my last words ) I go back and look through work because once every 6 months I archive it all into a rar file. So it's worth checking that I'm not putting some 'stunners' into storage

I'm doing a ceramics course at art college and at least once a month I'm asked what I'm going to specialise in and my answer is "I don't know, I haven't finished playing yet." I have a suspicion that I never will. Such is the joy of life

I imagine your golden composition carved in wood and made golden with frame gold ( the very thin golden sheets that are used to make golden frames for images) or painted with gold. It reminds me a lot on art that I have seen in Asian temples.

I think I slowly can start to concentrate on what to plan for the holidays over the weekend. I am soooo relieved that I have one worry less

For me today has been a beautiful day, the sun has been out all day, the weather has been mild, it's just been one of those glorious winter days. Also signing into dA and seeing all the comments on this image, so many people like it has been a real gift. My Mum died 17 years ago today and yet it hasn't been a sad day it's been a day of happiness and light, my Mum would have been enchanted by such

I'm so glad you are getting some time to plan and relax. Take care of you and be well
