Description
So I wanted to draw my main squad from my comic, Not another cliche since I wanted to include some information about the characters on some extra pages. (It probably won't be available for the free version of the comic tho). ..
From left to right, we have Ackee, Sky, Kay and Lucas.

Oh and here's a fun fact: Originally I was just going to make "Not another cliche" a story about Ackee and Sky, but when I went to markets and conventions and talked with more people they encouraged me to include a boy, so obviously I had to do better than that and have 2 boys instead, which also meant I had to change the script for my comic which was fine since it was still in its early stages and now I think it's a lot better for it.

For me it's always been a goal of mine to make a story that includes a variety of different kinds of black people and not just what people automatically expect a black person to be or act like so hopefully there's at least one NAC Character you'll be able to relate to and if not... well I got side characters too 🤷🏾♀️

Variety of black people? I thought there was a variety of people already including white people. But I guess the media does betray black people in a certain way. Maybe cuz I grew up with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Family Matters. Maybe that's why i see things diffently. But i love the characters. I can actually see the personalities just by looking at them.

I grew up watching the fresh prince and my wife and kid etc too
But most of the popular "Black Shows" whether they are sitcoms, or animated are typically from an African-American perspective, which is great, African-American show deserves to be made and are made for an American audience anyway!
My point was, there isn't just one way to be black, and there should be stories that reflect that.
For example, I'm Black British, but most of the "Black shows" I know are African-American, and I have no idea if they really portray how real African-American people are, but I know it doesn't really reflect my culture 100% (there are similarities tho) because it's not meant to. And shows that aren't "Black Shows" are normally stereotypes or about slavery.
I mean there's not that many black-British shows either, the only current one I can think of at the top of my head is time-wasters and even then it's not on the same level as a show like The Fresh Prince popularity-wise, and I can't even name any Afro-Germans, Afro-French, afro Indian etc shows either... which is really weird considering how many African-American shows I know in comparison.
Basically, think of it this way, take white Americans and white British people, although they are both Caucasian, their cultures will be slightly different right, well the same thing applies to Black People.
Anyway, I don't want this to become a long essay or anything so I'mma stop there, but I hope that made more sense and thanks!

Oh you're black british. Oh believe me i understand. 100%. We have a show over here with a black british guy and he talked about the difference between Black American and Black British. How people treats him differently when he talks.
