The light is nice, clearly outdoors, and combined with the stray strands of hair being played with by the breeze one imagines the model somewhere in out in the midwest, surveying some vast field of crop.
I am pleased with the model, her freckles present a pleasant distraction to the eye and her hair appears natural and not out of a box.
That said I do not know why the photograph was taken.
The model's eyes have that far away, distant set that leads me to think this picture is going to say something deep about something. The problem is that something is never realized.
Since all I have in the photo is the model's face and hand I go from the eye to the hand which looks to be poised in that moment before she starts biting her nail. We went from deep to utterly mundane.
When you take in the hand the facial expression becomes not so much distant as blank. There are no lines, no crinkles, no tension anywhere in her expression, nothing I can look at and go 'ah ha, here is something important I should pay attention to.'
I briefly considered that perhaps the artist was trying to draw attention to the nail biting that was blowing the other elements up but that isn't it either. If that were the case there would be some pull on the lips to tell the viewer that that is where they should focus, but her even where her finger is her lips remain undisturbed.
The bangs are very low, meaning I cannot glean expression clues from the set of the eyebrows.
I think I see what the artist was going for, and I think there is solid technique behind this work I just don't think the work itself says anything.

Thank you for your critique! I'll try to implement this during my next shot.

The pose doesn't mean much to me, but she's certainly beautiful, especially if one likes such superbly freckled faces. I like the nose a lot: is that a Lithuanian bump in it?

Well, many people of Lithuanian ancestry have straight noses with just a little extra convexity on the bridge. It looks like a slight bump, just prominent enough to be cute.
