Description ART TRADE  for  the fabulous
always a pleasure to work on her dynamic characters with their interesting abilities
and to read some of the stories that go along with them.

___________________________________________________________________
Deyandar Seraslan is the last heir of one of the oldest Pard bloodline, the black manned lions of Abyssinia. With the centuries, the lion Pards have moved from the african continent and spread in all the indo european sub continent, but the black maned lions have always been considered the natural leader of the Pards.
He is by tradition and duty the protector of his people and does his very best to protect the Pard, but he is also stuck in the traditions and history and that can make him appear stuffy and narrow minded sometimes. Luckily he is also a smart , good man, and won't toss away the advices or opinions or those around him, even if speaking to him can be terribly hard sometiomes because of his aura of self righteousness that can put some people on edge (*koff* Katy *koff koff* ). Once you go through this almost pompous exterior he is a truly good man, anxious to do his best and see his people safe, a good and kind hearted teacher despites his almost total absence of humor.
He has grown with Akane and her mother and consider them as family.
He knows Baireï and they share a reluctant, grudging respect: even if their means are very different they share the same aim of protecting and caring for their people.

Excellent work! I really like the appearance/design of the character. I see qualities she expressed about him you pasted below represented in your depiction, for sure. Love the embellishment details on his clothing. Make sure spadiekitchenqueen knows her character has been admired, hehe.

thank you. the work on the clothing was especially challenging, there were many great designs to emulate in the end I sort of made my own. even with the help of making repeat brushes, it took some time. I was very interested in doing this one when I read the infos on him  - knowing he would stick out exotic in my gallery

Yeah, I imagined that's what you did! It looked like it took time and care. He does stand out, really striking piece. As I've said a million times, it's great you can illustrate men and have as much diversity with them as you do females. I'm sure it isn't as easy since you mostly do chicks, but you definitely do a good job. A lot of artists mostly draw one gender and then they every so often (less than you) try to draw the other and it's like ........nah. I think one of your stronger talents is how you try to understand who the person is and how that factors in. I guess you're also good at seeing male faces as 3D and not just reference pictures. I'd think it's harder to draw men, tbh. Especially with your style since it's more soft/airbrushed. Anyway, you do a lot of different things very well and I bet you make many people happy!

thank you. that is a very kind compliment. I dont really see my style as really soft and airbrushed - i mean compared to alot of stuff - but I guess its alot softer than traditional - I think esp for portraits most people are going for that beautiful and fake light feeling, almost studio lighting. Im trying to focus my efforts where they will make the most difference

Softer than traditional, yeah. That's more what I meant. I do think it has an airbrushed quality but not as in photo retouch style airbrush where it's perfect fake light and all. It's just not harsh on edges and can look really smooth. Maybe airbrush was the wrong term?

nah I dont know. I think its a compliment though, i dont like art that looks too utterly smooth and faces look like plastic.

My Spadiekitchenqueen makes her male characters pretty appealing but this guy may be my favorite so far.
