it's funny that when i first saw this painting before a long time ago. to me, the girl kinda looked a little black to me, especially because i thought she had a giant doo rag (to hide her dreadlocks like black people?). i guess now i know that she's white and didn't have a doo rag. uh....Vermeer's color tone choice for his painting is kinda little off

black people dont wear that to hide their dreads do they? I think they just do it to keep their super soft hair covered from getting stuff in it. I often wear one whenever I was painting because I have long hair that otherwise can drag in  the paint or if Im working on a ceiling or tall wall I definitely dont want it to fall on the top of my head, paint is hard to get out of hair.  I don't think she looks black at all

I love Ver Meer and saw the movie about the making of that painting (highly dramatized) and this is one of my all-time favorite works.  It is sublime.  You did an EXCELLENT job recreating the magic of the original.

thanks so much. I never saw that movie, I thought, how can you make a whole movie over just that painting?

Amazing! You did fantastic.

It's a very beautiful and smart painting. I like it a lot, too. I'm pretty sure I saw it in person at the Met. If not it was one very similar.

I like how little touches of you are here, like how pretty her lips are and how bright and engaging her eyes seem to be.

i see. you just have a lot of digital works posted, couldn't help but wonder.

the faux finishing works are amazing btw, is that what you specialize in for a living?

thank you. Well yes, I got  started in digital like 3 years ago, so my work now is mostly digital because I had to learn so I made alot of art learning - still am... and all the OC stuff is commission (if not gift) and on top of that digital art is clean and besides software theres no cost for materials

excellent.

that's a good point, there's no cleanup.

but the smell of actual paint = amazing.

and how else would you accidentally put your paintbrush in your tea

baked some chocolate crackle cookies for a BBQ. they had molten chocolate chips in them and they were a huge hit

have you been baking lately?

wow that sounds amazing! no just banana bread and wait... I have been making alot of pancakes but that doesnt count. I didnt have very much ingredients so I tried to make some bread using yogurt and it was horrible texture but i made it thinner and used the same idea for pancakes instead and its great. yogurt instead of milk for pancakes
