Another Goblin image from Spec Spidey issue 137.... this is a particular favourite of mine, as it just screams 'classic Goblin'! Especially thanks to David Roach on inks, and Jason Cardy on colours

It was definitely not cool.
The worst part is there was no reasoning for it. Goblin had powers just like Spider-Man. In fact he was stronger. He's not just The Joker in tights flying on a glider, he has superpowers. Yet they kept Spidey in his tights, but decided to give Gobby a moronic costume. Dafoe even has the perfect face for Gobby. So many unnecessary changes were made. Don't they realize that the majority of people attending the movies are seeing them because they love the characters and stories and not for cinematic prowess or "realism"? Ugh.
BTW, I think all your art is fantastic. I especially love your Hulk work. It looks so classic and organic compared to modern editions, where every vein and muscle is rigidly sculpted into his body. I think the fluid, simpler designs of old are much more distinctive, and due for a comeback.

Thank you! I wished they'd have used this costume for the movie as well.... could you have imagined how cool Willem Dafoe would have looked made up as the Goblin? He's got the perfect face for it.... just check out some of his expressions in the film!
