I love the perspective on this one and yeah, I have to admit, I recently just discovered more about the character and she was more intriguing the more I found out about her.

You haven't discovered enough yet...TV series, movies and comics dating wayyyy back She's the wonder woman here I just wished she made a big dent in the international scene though . We got another one here, have you heard of Captain Barbell?

I have never seen Captain Barbell before either. This Mars Ravelo guy left a legacy it looks like.

Indeed. Those two are his works, Darna and Captain Barbell another one is Lastikman. he's a local version of Mr. Fantastic and Plastic Man from DC. These guys are in Google I think as well in Wikipedia.

Yeah, I'm American of Filipino descent and I recently just discovered the character myself. I think the problem is accessibility.

I think the reason she's not making any dent in the international scene is because of that problem - the comics are not as available or marketed (I had to order it online from overseas to see it) and the film and television productions don't give justice to the character in terms of visual quality and storyline.

Though, you never know. Things may, dum dee dum dee dum, "possibly change."
