Razz is a very handsome boy! And you gotta love that all-white collar! lol
Personally, I am not into the show scene...too political, too work-intensive. Plus, I personally think the very best job a dog can have is to be a beloved companion...a pet. Milo, my blue merle Aussie, gets plenty of exercise of course, but I am sure he'd love a run at herding. He's got the drive in him pretty strongly, even though he came from show lines (his father does both).

Oh wow. This is a beautiful Aussie. The short prominant nose, the mixed blue and brown eyes, and his fur splotching brings out the full blue merle effect. Is he a show dog, breeding dog, herding dog, or pet?

Oh wow! I never did a course run. I wanted to give it a try, but having no experience in it and no mentor to lead me through them, it kinda ended bad. I seem better on the jumping courses and the obeidence aspects of contests.
Your Border Collie sounds precious. Do you have any pictures of her up in your gallery or scraps? What event did she get her injury in? What kind of pain?
They let a shaker into a contest? I didnt think that would fly at all with a judge. :/
And yes. I really hate when breeders do things like that. Although they blame the fact on a genetic disorder, I believe something might have happened at the birthing, becuase they bred that bitch at least twice a year. Thats horrid.

yeah that's not good for any bitch, although i think it's just another
she didn't get injured in a contest, but she was puppy mill and i think she just has really bad genes (she's also really fat despite changing her diet and lots of exercise) so we just try and keep it as low as we can. she would just wake up sore in the mornings, then work out of it a bit by the end of the day. now she's sore in the morning, slowing down, and a little sore at night, but we've got her on glucosamine which has been making a difference abit. and yes, i do have pictures of her on my site ^^ two i think...
yeah the only thing i didn't like about running a course was that it went too fast!!! we were only in novice, but she'd run a standard under forty which was really good for her ^^ on new years we took second in an open jumpers class by running 28 ^^ i took some good classes with a great instructor so we had a really good start ^^.

Thats odd. She wouldnt have weak bone structure would she? Not at her age at least.
Thats cool that she run that fast on a course, and as a beginnger too!

she's definitely got all the stuff that makes her a border collier that's for sure ^^
she's eight now, but still, at four she as showing way more pain than she should have. she's been checked out, never had her hips x-rayed but as far as a normal pet is concerned the vet hadn't sent up any red flags. i didn't expect much from a puppy mill dog though. her pedigree is far from impressive and might be completely fake for all i know. she was also first owned by a single mom who lived in an apartment with two infants and worked two full time jobs...poor girl probably only went outside to go to the bathroom s she's got a couple mental issues too, but once u've got her doing something she's set that she's going to get it done, and as fast as she can ^^ lol i love her spirit ^^ and she still get's around just fine so we just try and keep the activity to a lower level. she goes for long walks, sometimes jogs and as long as she cools down and get's her glucosamine she's usually not too bad the next day.

Oi pit bulls are a pain. And they take pain pretty easily. I used shock collars on them to get them to stop barking at certain times, but the moment the collars come off they just start it all over again. So their pretty intelligent and catch on quickly.
Its interesting to apply the contests as a game. And its probably the easiest way to get them to understand it. I was watching the Fly dogs today. Did you get to see them? Guiness (A red Aussie) had some very good catches and varieties but the overall performance was under. He was up a dog named Tag, a border collie mix. Amazing jumps but slow turner. I missed the agility performance though. Had to finish some pictures for a friend and a designer dress =.= . I guess I will just google up the stats today.
