Description
12" x 9" Graphite on paper. I actually did these for my daughters' Art Show for the name labels that were used on all the artwork. We had just gotten back from Zion and I was on a tree kick so I had plenty of inspiration to draw from. I find myself staring at trees, it's so calming. I think I used 2H, 3B and 6B pencils on this one.Thanks for looking and faving!

david finch did a review of my work at the last NYCC and we had a semi lengthy discussion on drawing/rendering trees and rocks (and that we both rapidly can over do them 
the color variations you did with some of your wildlife studies are swell too! a fun exercise if you're interested is to draw on white scratch paper with pens and markers to get your forms, then using the scratch tool, scratch in the all details.

Love the way the tree's texture is represented. Your advice on creating my own brush for textured coloring was great. It helped with my coloring of Ed Benes's "Hulk" image I colored.
