Description An adorable and unique bunny fashioned in tsumami kanzashi style stands like an inquisitive visitor in a spring garden, framed in beautiful, vibrant flowers and lush green foliage. Sparkling organza fabric, glittering gems, and bright mizuhiki accents in shades of green and pink give life to the piece, finished by a gently chiming bell detail. Mounted on an alligator clip for easy wear, this kanzashi measures approximately 5.25" x 3.5".

so sweet!
and is it so small? - do You mean in cm.,or inch?
You say "clip" - like to pin in to the clothes or hairs...or something els?
it's lovely idea and metode of folding fabriec is very efective!
never hear of it...I did one nice picture with organza, but in "squizzy" way just puting it to right shape and connecting with streeng...that's easy, but this...and in this size is big achevement!

Hello from the US, and thank you for your kind comments! To answer your questions: The size measurements in the description are always given in inches. All my kanzashi are functional hair accessories like the ones traditionally worn by Japanese geisha and maiko. Even if the picture does not show it, there is always a clip or a pin so that it can be worn in the hair!

Thank you very much! This piece, as with all my other works, are 100% hand-made, and each petal is individually folded from a small piece of fabric in traditional Japanese style.

A very happy 2014 to you as well!

SuperSarcosmic In reply to SincerelyLove [2014-01-07 06:57:23 +0000 UTC]

If you don't mind me asking, how did you learn how to do this? Did you just use online tutorials that you could point me to, or...?
I'm hoping to get better at manipulating fabric in different ways, so this would be nice to learn about.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SincerelyLove In reply to SuperSarcosmic [2014-01-07 07:40:56 +0000 UTC]

To be perfectly honest with you, most of what I know I learned through practice and experience. Although I learned the basics through tutorials, there really is no easy way to teach the fine details that go into the craft. I'm sure if you look, however, there are many tutorials available that teach all kinds of fabric manipulation, and not just in the style of tsumami kanzashi too!

Yeah, I've been starting to think about making kanzashi. I've never known the name of them til recently, but they've always struck me as very pretty. Thank you for your response! I'll look around.
