Nice painting! Love the look of the Ishizuchi. Kinda reminds me of the Kongo and how she was in WW1 combine with a gun layout similar to the Amagi class.
(If you don't get the reference, you haven't done enough research)

Yep. The Ishizuchi (as well as the Myogi also in WoWS) is a proto design that led to the Kongo class. My thoughts on how the Japanese designers went to designing the ships goes something like this:
Okay, we need big battlecruisers. Let's give them 10 12inch guns! That is great firepower! (Ishizuchi)
Sir, the British have build the Lion class with 8 13.5 inch guns!
Okay, we need bigger guns than the Brits! Let's make it 6 14inch guns! Much more firepower! (Myogi)
Sir, the ship looks kinda weird.
True, and not enough firepower. Okay, how about 8 14inch guns...yes, that is great! (Kongo as built)
Indeed sir! Time to build her!

Hehe, that's probably pretty accurate. Too bad the Amagi was cancelled, it would have the heaviest broadside ever, apart from the Yamato.

Lol
I wouldv'e loved to see the AMagi as a Battlecruiser. Shame she was damaged in the earthquake so that we couldv'e seen her as a carrier at the very least. Shame Amagi was never a carrier.
...oh wait XD
