Day 4 everyone, this one's a little darker, it has to do with the different ways that greyhound are "Disposed Of". After about three or four years, a greyhounds racing career is basically finished, they start to slow down and have less stamina. In Spain, and I'm sure other countries too, a common way of getting rid of retired greyhounds is to cut of their ears (Which have identification tattoos in them), and throw them into the forests to fend for themselves. Sometimes duct-tape will be wrapped around their snouts, making sure that they die of starvation and dehydration. Greyhounds are also hung from bridges, left in rooms, beaten, and many other horrible things, all which result in death. However, some people, like the ones I adopted my dog from, will drive down to different greyhound owners and buy as many retired and or abused greyhounds that they can. Sadly, though, no matter how many they save, even more die in terrible ways.

Like I've stated previously, this book will contain some content some people may find disturbing, but I'm not flagging it as mature because I believe people need to know about this problem.
