I actually like Juri better ( i have SSF4).
She's a pretty good character (i just don't like her sheng fu engine attack as much though)
She really hot!!

Makes sense. Juri's one of my faves too. She just has that 'crazy-bitch' personality that you just have to love.

I often get mad when players beat me with Shotokans.
Though we all know they're cheap. lol

Yeah, but I still love playing as Ryu in most SF games(especially equipped with the Denjin in 3s). Although in a crossover game I tend to pander to someone else cuz Ryu's a balanced character and to hell with balance in a Capcom-vs game.

TheToonDevil In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-05-23 18:11:45 +0000 UTC]

I find it kinda funny, Ryu's nearly the best in SF, but in VS titles, his movements seem rather weak.
Probably because most of the Marvel cast use lasers which cut through Hadoukens.

but I also find it funny how Bias Capcom is. Giving Ryu the highest stats, I know for a fact Wolverine is much stronger then Ryu.
COme on, try punching Logan, your fists will get crush with those metal bones in his body. Lol

SinfulHeaven In reply to TheToonDevil [2011-05-23 18:29:50 +0000 UTC]

Well Capcom isn't gonna make their posterboy look stupid in the opening scenes(That's whst Dan's for). And yeah, Wolverine can kick about anyone's ass--metal or boneclawed. And where in some characters they kinda weaken them they deify others, like Sentinel. He's a high alert problem in MvC 2 and 3 (and when he's in x-factor mode just run away) even though on the Xmen cartoon Jubilee was able to take one down by herself. JUBILEE! And all she could do was those razzle dazzle fireworks.

TheToonDevil In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-05-23 18:33:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, I doubt it would make Ryu look stupid if they gave him more reasonable info rather then making him out to have the most perfect stats in the bunch.
Only one whom I think matched him was Ironman.

But if you think about it, Marvel's cast in reality would murder Capcom's. Hulk vs Akuma, Hulk would win.
Keep hitting Hulk he'll just get bigger and stronger. And Pheonix, though kinda weak in MvC3, she's pretty much a god in the comics. XP

SinfulHeaven In reply to TheToonDevil [2011-05-23 19:06:45 +0000 UTC]

What I mean is every game opening it always starts off with Ryu getting his jaw smacked by another poster character. In MvC 3 he get's hit by Wolverine. In SFxT it's Kazuya. I guess he's getting the challenge he's always wanted.

Oh yeah and let's not forget about The Juggernaut. That guy doesn't believe in stop signs. Shuma Gorath...yeah he can rip through dimensions you think he can't rip through a spleen? Luckily Cyclops isn't as powerful in reality as he is in the game unless he takes off his shades. The only folks on capcom's side that could (maybe) take them on is Dante, Morrigan....snd that's all I can come up with.

I'm sure Capcom has some characters that can combat Marvel's. But I just don't like how Capcom weakens fighters like Spiderman.

Spiderman can lift a freaken car. Never once I seen Ryu lift a car. And his Power stats are higher!?
I was also surprised how low Captain America was. Since he's a so called Super Soldier.

That, and how much younger Akuma is compared to his older brother Gouken. His hair was full and Red and Gouken's is gray and balding. Says a lot about their parents.

SinfulHeaven In reply to TheToonDevil [2011-05-23 19:27:02 +0000 UTC]

True, but at least the Hulk is still overpowered with his super armor--I can name several times where I'd hit him with a launcher attack and only I went up...and got countered with a gamma crush, And Captain America's 'Charging Star' shoulda been a freakin chargemove. I think every one's on capcom's side got amped up in the vs series while marvel's got toned down. You see how big Sakura's Shinku Hadokens are in those games? It's the only way Capcom would stand a chance against foes that can warp dimensions, have healing factors and are virtually indestructible. It's not like when they were fighting SNK.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-05-23 19:58:17 +0000 UTC]

Well, now that I think about it. Capcom could be going for that dimensional powers fluctuation story line.
Where strong warriors get weakened when being in a universe that's not their own.

But still...Great game though. Wish they had more modes though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinfulHeaven In reply to TheToonDevil [2011-05-23 20:23:06 +0000 UTC]

They probably are: vs SNK, mostly martial artist, shinku hadoken ball. vs Tekken, martial artists shinku hadoken ball. vs Tatsunoko, super heroes shinku hadoken beam. Vs Marvel, super heroes, shinku hadoken beam.

Which game are you talking about?

TheToonDevil In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-05-23 20:26:05 +0000 UTC]

I was talking MvC3. Lol

SinfulHeaven In reply to TheToonDevil [2011-05-23 20:28:27 +0000 UTC]

What that game could've really used was Megaman. Not having him in the game yet having Bonne and Zero in there was a big middle finger to MvC fans, I mean, of all characters in a series you should have the character who's name is in the title for crying out loud.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheToonDevil In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-06-08 03:01:45 +0000 UTC]

I think the problem was that Capcom and Megaman's creator were having some issues with each other.
He eventually left cause he didn't like how Capcom ran things. So I wouldn't be surprised if it was his leaving that Capcom didn't make Rock in the game.

Secondly, even if she was, Chun-Li would kick her sorry behind.
Third, SF3 is overrated.

Simply-Scarlet In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-19 16:38:03 +0000 UTC]

Silly! Just because sweet little tomboys like Makoto don't meet the stereotype of an 'attractive woman' (boobs hanging out, overdone curves and long flowing hair) it doesn't mean they're not women! I happen to like my ladies with short hair and boyish looks, thanks.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrotherAntroz In reply to Simply-Scarlet [2011-04-19 16:45:25 +0000 UTC]

'Sweet'? Are you talking about Makoto? The person who walks around punching everyone he/she meets in the groin? The person who inspired a thousand ryona fetishists (and that lovely human being dhim/nutsvsguts)?
And hey, if you like your women a little on the gender-ambiguous side, that's your right.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Simply-Scarlet In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-19 16:59:05 +0000 UTC]

Wow...take it easy man. Makoto hardly runs around punching people in the crotch for kicks, it's just one of her moves. And it's Street Fighting, right? There aren't exactly any rules that say Makoto can't aim below the belt. If you want to win a fight...that's the way to do it.

Um, I never really saw her moves as fetish inspiration. Whatever floats your boat I suppose. Take it easy.

BrotherAntroz In reply to Simply-Scarlet [2011-04-20 13:21:03 +0000 UTC]

So the ends justify the means? I can see why you're so enamored of her; you think virtually the same way.
(Also, how does being willing to punch someone in the nuts/vagina to win one round of a tournament make her 'sweet'?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Simply-Scarlet In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-20 18:12:42 +0000 UTC]

Seriously? I thought this conversation was over.
You're not making much sense. If you are so against Makoto punching people in their crotches, why would you call someone like dhim wonderful?

Um...who said anything about me being enarmored with her? I kind of prefer women in real life. I just find her character design cute, that's all. I'll end this debate by saying that I really fail to see why you're so worked up about a fictional girl in fictional world punching fictional people in their fictional crotches.

Should you choose to continue this debate do not expect me to reply.

SinfulHeaven In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-11 18:38:14 +0000 UTC]

So is Halo and Star Wars, but that doesn't mean the media'll quit making references towards them.

And yes, even though she's young, Makoto IS a woman.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrotherAntroz In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-04-11 19:07:20 +0000 UTC]

When was the last time 'the media' made any reference to SF3? It killed the Street Fighter franchise for 10 years, and for some VERY good reasons.
Makoto doesn't sound like a woman, doesn't look like a woman, doesn't dress like a woman and thinks ball-punches are funny. Yup, textbook X-chromosome bearer!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinfulHeaven In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-11 19:17:22 +0000 UTC]

Killed it? That's cuz people couldn't adapt to the parry system and got mad when they knew their projectiles didn't mean shit along the fact that you had to really know a character in order to get good with them...as well as most of the original SF cast being scrapped. For a fact, American gamers and such are more difficult to please.

Of course she doesn't dress like a woman--She's in a karate uniform. And when she punches someone in the balls, it doesn't look like she thinks it's funny. She also hits other women in the baby-box. Besides, women have XX chromosomes, men have XY chromosomes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrotherAntroz In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-04-11 19:51:22 +0000 UTC]

It's because fireballs, which have been with the series since SF1, were completely castrated, and the original cast was removed and replaced with boring, dull, unoriginal copies to attempt to appeal to a wider audience, which...failed.
That' plus the cheap-as-hell parrying system and blatantly broken gameplay with characters being either insanely overpowered or absolutely and utterly useless, and it's no small wonder it bombed so hard.
What is a LARGE wonder is its overly defensive, overzealous and obsessive fanbase.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinfulHeaven In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-11 20:30:57 +0000 UTC]

Most of the time Street Fighter II and IV was just a projectile game with some fighting in it SFIII was actually a fighting game with projectiles. The only thing SF3 ever copied from is from themselves. Parrying isn't cheap, seeing to it that if you screw it up you get hit and it sure as hell beats being kept in a corner trying to block or cancel tedious attacks--oh I'm sorry, ZONING. All the characters for the most part ARE original, save for the shotoclones and Hugo. BROKEN? You mean like SFA's Vsm infinities or Sagat's Tiger-tiger-tiger-tiger-tiger-tiger playstyle?
The REAL wonder, is this game's haters, and complainers that come to rise whenever they're mad cuz they suck at it due to the fact that it actually takes more skill and thinking, which apparently they aren't willing to put in, to win.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrotherAntroz In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-04-11 21:07:57 +0000 UTC]

So, you like Street Fighter games that don't feel, look or play like Street Fighter games? Thanks for the heads-up!
Also, it's funny that you whine about people playing 3S for 5 minutes and not liking it, but from what I've seen of your complaints about SF4, you do the same thing!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SinfulHeaven In reply to BrotherAntroz [2011-04-11 21:19:43 +0000 UTC]

I like street fighter in general, it's just that I love SFIII. And I don't mean to bash on the other games, it's just that if you wanna throw some cards out, fine, but let's throw ALL the cards out on the table. NONE of the games are perfect, so hell; I like something you don't. And it's probably the same for you. So aright then, what's YOUR ideal street fighter game? What does it feel, look, and play like?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BrotherAntroz In reply to SinfulHeaven [2011-04-12 16:22:38 +0000 UTC]

As cliched as it is, I'd like a game where everyone (even poor Cammy) can compete on even footing against everyone else.
Not even Super Street Fighter IV offers that, but of all the SF games so far, it tries its best, unlike the Arcade Edition, which is just 3rd Strike ported into the SF4 engine. You'd probably love it.
