Certainly looks a bit smoother. Might be easier to judge if it had lighting similar to the images you've already made. Based on what I see though, It looks a little better.

This is where I'm between a rock and a hard place. With this version, to me, she looks like she's made out of plastic. But that's just the feeling I get. Which is why I'm asking opinions.

I think I see what you mean. Mostly in her face. Like she layered on her makeup just a bit too thick or something. I imagine making her look wet is only going to compound that.
Your previous skin wasn't bad, but I can see why you'd want something that gives the characters a bit more realism.
Gotta say though, it does shade well.
