Description The tape covering his mouth, is for all the things he needs to say, but is not allowed. The rope around his wrists is for the ownership his parents have over him. The tears are for the years he's lost in his lifetime, spent perfecting his imperfect image. The bruises are all the mistakes he's made today.

This boy is the victim of child abuse. Withered away with the laws that "protect" him, yet continue to do nothing to help. From the people who say they "care", but proceed to hurt. From the teachers, the babysitters, the adults who look at him, but then take a step away because it's 'not their business'.

An average of more than 2,450 children were found by Child Protection Services, to be abused, per day. That doesn't include the cases that go unreported.

The National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System reported an estimated 1,760 child fatalities in 2007. This doesn't include the deaths that were proclaimed 'accidental'.

Abuse is more common than known, and just because we don't want to make a big deal out of a little bruise, doesn't mean it couldn't save a life.

No scrape is nothing.
Save the children.

Camera: really shitty, cheap, Canon.
Model: Christian [my baby brother]
Yes, it's make up. And it was done in ten minutes, so I understand it's not the best.

I go to the Illinois Institute of Art in Illinois. We are having an art gallery and the subject is isolation. I am focusing on how people feel isolated because of the way people react to something that happened to them (Homelessness, abuse, etc.) May I be able to use your picture for the project?
