Description Here is my second oekaki attempt. It came out pretty well, I think. The background was kinda rushed, because I had to go to work. Overall, I like how it came out.

It's a shirshu from the TV series Avatar the Last Airbender. I've seen the animal name spelled about a million different ways, but this is the most common, so I went with this spelling. Jun the bounty hunter rode one of these things in the episode "Bato of the Water Tribe." It's a giant mix between a wolf, mole and anteater. It's blind, but with an incredible sense of smell. Jun used it to track her prey. She said it could smell people from miles away.

I did this one originally on the AvatarSpirit.Net Oekaki Main Board. Great site. Check it out.

Avatar, Jun and shirshus are not mine. If they were, I'd be one happy lady. Instead, they're Nickelodeon's.

Love it! I personally don't care for a lot of the creature designs on A:TLA, but I do love the Shirshu - I mean, that thing's just awesome! It merges the body shape/bushy tail of an anteater, the coloration of a german shepard, and the blindness/nasal flanges of a star-nosed mole - but the atributes blend together very well to create an animal that's really friggin cool.

Thanks! I loved the Shirshu too. And Jun. The episode that introduced those two was one of my favorites of the series. They're both great.

Absolutely.

But evil.

NOTHING should be that big, fast, have no visible eyes, a long muzzle, razor-sharp teeth, that dark color, and have a tongue like that. When it drools....

Nasty, nasty, nasty.

Can you imagine having to clean up after it? Now, that'd be NASTY.

Heh...all you have to do is let it go wherever it wants, provided it's not in your house. I mean, who's going to complain to someone with one of THOSE things?

True. I definately don't see anyone complaining to Jun. Or, I don't see anyone enjoying the broken legs she'd give them for those complaints.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of that THING....it's like the proverbial 500-pound gorilla....where does a 10-foot-high, poisonous, starved, deadly shirshu scat? Anywhere it wants.
