in gardens overgrown
I strolled the old familiar paths
where love birds had once flown
Time has faded my beating heart
like a crumbling photograph
and the music to which we used to dance
has turned to whispered rasps
The sun once bright is old and dim
My love now lives with Seraphim
His shadow is my only friend
And will not let my cold heart mend
