Description I'm enrolled in a game design course and I’ve written up a short storyline for a game that I’ve wanted to make. This is one of the Robotic organisms I’ve wanted to build into this game. I built it with 3DS max for fun and for practice, I hope you like it.

very nice design. It looks like the spider robot can fold together to a ball like thing if inactive. Anyhow I think the intersting part is how you make the single parts curved and look like assambled shell for protect the inner mechanics. Also it remind me a bit on the old iMac series, however

Thanks again for your comments. I was intended that this robot would be able to draw itself into a ball, or close to a ball like shape, for defensive purposes and also for quick movement.

Thanks Again

actually it's not a spider - spiders always have 8 legs (except you rip some of them out, but let's hop you don't), this would be a robotic insect than - 6 legs = insects
it looks great though

Yeah I have notices that it has six legs instead of for, but you get the gist of it anyways.

Looks great, like the color scheme.

Are you going to put it in a scene?

If you are interested in making a game, there are plenty of kits around to do so.

I may eventually, but this is just something that'll be useful for my port folio

Thanks

It's Only made of 2 colours so it was really easy to texture. They were just simply dragged and dropped onto the selected parts of my choice

I liked the way you designed this robotic spider, I especially like the way you've given it a nice basic tone of colour which doesn't give too much shine. Be very impressive to see how this works if it was rigged

Thanks.

I did once try and rig model to move, but it kind of went spaz; so i got a friend to help me rig it up. We did manage to get it to move, but when it was being animated, it moved like it was shivering slightly "pretty funny if you think of it moving that way". I think we may of rigged it a little too complexly, I may go back to rigging this again some day.

This model is was one of my first complex models I've made, and that was after using 3DS Max for the first time for only a semester. I have remodeled this, but the only modifications done was on the pistons and elbow joints; but you can't really see them underneath the plate armour on the legs.

Thanks for your comment

It is no problem at all the thought of seeing its shiver though does make me giggle at the one-day will work properly for you and I hope my delegate to see it. Anyway I enjoyed the look of the model even though they were small modifications it is a nice piece of modelling.
