I was listening to the soundtrack of 'The Last Samurai' and got this wierd idea.Uncle goes to buy more tea leaves, the crew is out in the town,
so Zuko pulls out his little secret from under his bunker and goes out into the bamboo to reminisce.
If they found out, he'd have to play at music night! O_O
Ink and colored pencil on sketchbook paper.
I tried using real soft earth-tones. I've been steering away from using black and other average colors in my work to get some variety and it's very rewarding^_^

I'm working on this instrument for next year with a recorded soundtrack built inside at the suggestion of another cosplayer at Otakon. Maybe I'll have it ready by Anime North.

This is wonderful! I don't know why I've always imagined Zuko playing the shamisen over the sungi horn (which I don't even think is a real instrument 
Zuko must have an artistic side somewhere, we just never see it because he's always trying to play the tough guy.

Tch.. who are these people calling Zuko Evil??? He really is a good guy.. just hasn't figured it out yet that he's on the wrong side. I'm sure he'll come around though.
Exelent piece though. The colors are exusite (sp?) and the shading is fantactic! There are small, very small proportions issuse in the body, and his forehead looks big... but I just like giving critizing reviews hope you arn't to offended. Hands are looking good though! glad to see you not skipping over them like so many others would.
