Skater GabuA commission for Gabu of her fursona. This is my first time painting a plaid shirt traditionally and designing anything tribal-esque (for the bottom of the skate), but I think they both came out pretty well :>

Did you use several layers of color to achieve that look or did you have pencils that differed in color that much? This is definitely a technique I'd like to try out!

I used black, grey, and turquoise pencils only . First of all, I painted the thick horizontal lines in black and turquoise without putting too much pressure on the colour pencils. Then I painted vertical black lines covering the first stripes, and put a bit more pressure in the parts where the two black lines crossed so that they looked darker. And finally, I painted the remaining black squares with grey and the turquoise ones with that colour :>
