When I'm gone, will you leave a light in the windowJust in case I lose myself in the dark?
Will you give me a beacon to follow
To guide me back to where you are?
Will you give me strength when I falter?
Hold me when I stumble to fall?
Will you comfort me in my grief
As I comfort you in yours?
Will you be my calm in the storm,
The rock for me to lean on?
Could you hold my secrets
And be trusted not to run?
Can I rail at the world on your shoulder
As tears track down my face?
Can you be there for me when I need you
Can you teach me... I'm not alone?
When I'm gone, will you be my light in the window
Just in case I lose myself in the dark?
Will you be my beacon to follow
To guide me back to where you are?
