Description                                                   Two Worlds Collide

When first we met

The sun was shining on crystal blue waters
As I watched you skim across the Ocean
               With dizzying speed
Sails unfurled to catch the wind,
Like you were a breath away from flight
And it was beautiful

And then the storm came;
Why my love, did you not
Heed the warning of the sea?

Were you lulled into
               A deceptive complacency?
You must have been, for when I arrived
The ship had already been devoured
And it took all I was
To find and save three of you

And I left you on the beach with the driftwood
                For your people to find
Hoping that you would heal and wake in their care
And rationalize away your brief moment
Of lucidity

What did you remember my love?
When you awoke in your bed?

And what were you thinking
               To roam the beach
                              Visibly weak and pale
Railing at the sea?

And when you found me
I heard you, as I ran
                              And you chased
And cursed at sky and sea and land
When you lost me

Then time passed
                Along with my fear
And I did not run any faster
                Than you could chase
Until you caught me

Two worlds collided the day we met
And there was such joy in you
                                When I showed you mine
That I agreed to stay with you
In yours, for as long as you shall live

Love the structure, as always, it beautifully typifies the collision of land and sea and the union between the two.
