Wow this was labor intensive.Here is the awesome Soarin' of Wonderbolts fame with his removable flight suit.. which was an absolute nightmare to complete. Soarin' is fully made of minky with embroidered eyes and cutie mark (I used the standard WB cutiemark to avoid any canon issues in the future) while his suit is woven cotton. As I stated in the eBay listing, I will give the buyer the option to completely re-do the suit as a hoodie with the hood resting on his back, without the ability to extend to his face area. In my opinion, the head piece is rather flimsy but I tried to stay true to the show. Options - you has them.

Try to pick a fabric that doesn't stretch TOO much - the stretchier the fabric the more frustrating this suit will be. Make sure to leave an extra bit of seam allowance too so that the suit fits on the plush with enough room to make removable less of a nightmare. Good luck!

This looks awesome. To bad I can't afford custom toys, & plushies. Is there any way I could possibly have a copy of the pattern you used for him? I found a pony pattern before, but, it's for a smaller type, felt, plushie, & to me, is not as good looking when finished, as this is. No offense to those people or anything, but, I want to make a plushie that looks likr this, looks like it came from a store.

Unfortunately, I won't be sharing my pattern as it took quite a bit of time, attempts, and frustration to finish x_x However, I'm sure that with some patience and lots 'o paper, you could make your own great pattern! I had never made on before but studied plush patterns for horses and deer to for inspiration and then drew in the MLP style

Oh wow! I love Soarin, and I've been dying to make my own but commissions get in the way... He looks fab, and you've also beat me to making a removable wonderbolt suit! XD I really hope he gets a good price, and brilliant job on him!
I don't think the hoodie thing is a problem, one of the designs I considered was just a hoodie, and it's gone down well with the people I generally brainstorm with. The fact that's removable is such a bonus- it's epic! XD

Oh definitely! I want to make one to go with a Rainbow Dash, if only I can find a turqoise light enough! He's my favourite stallion, but Big Macintosh is also pretty close! I'm hoping to wait though until I've saved up enough for an embroidery machine- there's a nice one I've got my eye on, and with characters like Soarin I want them to be as perfect as I can get them!

I've been looking for a while, I wanted to make a quick one out of fleece, but it looks like if I did I'd have to make him white- the lightest available blue is the one that I use for Rainbow! XD
I did find a fabby seller of Minky on e-Bay, their minky works out cheaper for me by yard than most sellers in the US by about a third, (I'm in the UK) and they have 65 + 36 different colours in different pile lengths, and their customer service is top-notch. I got some beautiful shade for a Princess Luna commission, the dark blue is to die for
They also do some polar fleece colours I've never seen before in the UK XD It's just a case of me having the spare time and loose change to order some more colours!

XD it's took me a loooong time to find fabrics cheap enough... I followed all the links and names of fabrics that BabyLondonStar posted but getting them in the UK felt totally impossible for months until I found the one seller XD
