Oh any movie, as long as it's one I like (don't bother asking, it'd be WAY too long a list). How about we focus on which characters Sunset fits best first and worry about the movies themselves later?

I actually thought Merida could kinda work for Sunset, since they're both stubborn amongst other things, but I'm not into Brave enough to want to parody it (plus I'm not sure what to do about the triplets or the suitors from the other clans anyway).

Hmm okay, so you basically need a villain who is redeemed; do you want someone who is redeemed only at the very end of the movie, or partway through? If the former, someone like Regina George from Mean Girls could work, and if the latter, someone like Vivian from Legally Blonde could be a good choice.

If you want something a bit more dramatic than a romcom, I think Enchantress from Suicide Squad could be interesting; sort of like what might have happened to Sunset Shimmer if the Mane Six hadn't been able to save her from her demon form right after she stole the crown.

Well it doesn't have to be a redeemed character, but I wouldn't mind going for that. A character similar to Sunset's portrayal in Friendship Games (or maybe even Rainbow Rocks, though I haven't watched it yet) is good too.

I'll pass on Mean Girls, never saw the film, but Legally Blonde sounds okay. The only problem is that Vivian wasn't shown enough to count as a secondary character (in fact she wasn't even mentioned in the sequel...I still can't figure that out), and I want Sunset to at least be a secondary character in the parody if not the lead character.

Never saw Suicide Squad either. Try aiming for animated films, I haven't seen a lot of live action movies (relatively speaking) since I'm normally hesitant in checking them out. Side effect from Galaxy Quest freaking me out when my parents and I saw it in theaters....

Oh, I've been meaning to ask: remember my OC son for Fancy Pants and Fleur? Well you thought of some names for him that included the word 'Thistle' and I was wondering what inspired that. I did decide to go with Knight or Blade as the second half of the name.

As for his adopted name, I like where you're going with Prickly Plans and Mauve Mason but I dunno about Prickly or Mauve for a first name. Prickly sounds a little odd, and while Mauve is kinda nice it doesn't really feel like a boy's name (probably because it's kinda similar to Maud, Pinkie's sister). Plus he's more of a furniture builder than an architect, so Mason doesn't work...Plans still works though.

As I recall, "thistle" was a reference not only to his color scheme, but also something I landed on because the thistle has been the national emblem of Scottish royalty for centuries, so it's a connection to your OC's royal heritage.

Ah I see, it makes a lot of sense now. The only thing is, Fancy Pants seems to be British and Fleur is definitely French, so I dunno if they'd use a Scottish-based name for their foal. But I can overlook that since Thistle fits with Knight/Blade otherwise (especially since their son is a bit like a thistle: not dangerous - or violent - but still should be treated carefully or else you'll get 'pricked') and thistles exist in other countries besides Scotland.

Say, have you seen Zootopia yet?

Me too! The plot was clever (not to mention important, since it's message is really needed right now) and the characters are great. Plus the humor was good too.

Also I'm glad you saw it, because I really want to tell you my new MLP parody idea for it. Remember how unicorns, pegasi, and Earth ponies used to hate each other before Equestria was founded (Hearth's Warming Eve)? Well I'm gonna use that in place of the predator/prey conflict in the film, only it's pegasi and unicorns together against the Earth ponies. Basically in the past pegasi and unicorns enslaved (and kinda abused) Earth ponies, sort of similar to how the Caucasians enslaved African Americans until the 1860s, but eventually got over their prejudism and hatred and learned to coexist in harmony. One city, called Ponytopia, became the promoter of such peace (I was thinking the town names from the show could be used to name the sections of Ponytopia, like Canterlot being downtown).

So now we get to the cast, here's what I sort of worked out:

Applejack as Judy Hopps. I know Applejack would prefer staying on the farm unlike Judy, but we've seen how protective Applejack can be and I can see her wanting a job that allows her to protect others as an alternative career. Plus her personality is similar to Judy: they're stubborn, hard-working, and always ready to prove themselves.

Rainbow Dash as Nick Wilde. They both have pasts of being bullied, which affected their adult personalities (I bet Rainbow Dash's ego was partially to make herself feel better after all the bullying), and had rocky relationships with Applejack and Judy respectively only for them to become inseparable friends later on.

Of course the pegasi stereotype is being brutes and tough, but that doesn't really work for the plot so I'm gonna keep the 'con man' stereotype instead. I figured that for this parody both pegasi and unicorns used to be brutes towards the Earth ponies, but pegasi also needed cleverness and smarts to be good warriors so that fits in with the 'con man smarts' detail. So I'm thinking the tough and/or clever predator characters will be pegasi and the egotistical predator characters will be unicorns. For the most part.

Lightning Dust as Gideon Grey. I'm sure you saw Wonderbolts Academy, and obviously Lightning's 'not caring about others' attitude makes her perfect for a bully role. But also she never hurt or insulted others on purpose, allowing for a possible chance of her redeeming herself.

Sunset Shimmer as Mayor Lionheart. Sunset has leadership qualities, but also has made mistakes in the past. Plus while she's now kind and friendly she is capable of losing her temper if really worried about something.

And I was thinking Svengallop as Bellwether. I know Svengallop was never a 'weakling', but I can actually see him faking that sort of thing to gain the trust of others and keep them from seeing his true colors.

Scootaloo as Finnick, Nick's partner. I figured for the parody Scootaloo could be a rare midget pegasus, allowing for her to pose as Dash's daughter while still being a tough adult.

Tree Hugger as the guy who runs the naked animals club.

My friend Selena was thinking Shining Armor and Cadance as Emmet Otter and his wife. What do you think?

Also you're going to love this: Rara (Coloratura) as Gazelle.

I do need a little help with the rest of the cast though.

Oh, and as for finding a parody for Sunset Shimmer to star in: let's not worry about her past of being a bully (though I'm actually considering using Legally Blonde as a backup) and instead think of a role that matches Sunset Shimmer's personality in Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games instead.

A Zootopia crossover sounds really fun! One thing I'd keep in mind, if you do plan on having both unicorns and pegasi cast as "predator" types: it's noted in the movie, and is a fairly significant plot point, that prey animals in Zootopia outnumber predator animals 10:1.

I totally agree with most of your casting, though I think I'd choose Pinkie Pie over Applejack as Judy if I had to pick a member of the Mane Six. Just more of the right energy, I think.

Well, it's possible that Earth ponies outnumber unicorns and pegasi in general. I mean think about it: part of the reason why rabbits are good as farmers is because of their big families, since farming requires a lot of work. Earth ponies used to be only farmers so it would make sense that they would have large families too, and this has been already proven: Applejack and Pinkie Pie are the only ones of the Mane Six to have a lot of siblings. Fluttershy and Twilight only have a brother each, Rainbow Dash is an only child, Rarity only has a little sister, and they're all either pegasi or unicorns (or both, in the case of Twilight). And heck, Applejack's family is so huge that the possibility of her and Pinkie Pie being related was even the plot of an episode.

So in the parody: downtown Ponytopia has way more Earth ponies than pegasi, especially since pegasi prefer wide open spaces to a crowded city. Unicorns are the second most common after Earth ponies, but they usually do white-collar jobs like insurance and politics. And white collar jobs don't need as many employees as blue collar jobs like construction and police work do.

Of course that does raise the question of what obstacles Applejack would fight to earn her respect, but I'm thinking that the other Earth ponies on the force grew up in the city and were never farmers. So basically everypony doesn't believe that a farmer can be a cop, which makes sense considering police work requires more knowledge (details about all of the laws for one thing, which is a difficult subject). Plus there is that stereotype of farmers having a hillbilly mentality (as seen in the episode Simple Ways), which is similar to at least pegasi believing that all Earth ponies are dumb (Hearth's Warming Eve), which reminds one of the 'dumb bunny' stereotype brought up in Zootopia.

Maybe, but I can't see Pinkie wanting to do a serious job like police work.
