I named her Chastity after the Heavenly Virtue of Chastity-to refrain from sexual activities/the opposite of Lust. Why? Have you looked up “Gardevoir” on Google images, friend??? I named her Chastity because of A) The irony behind her being such a sexualized Pokemon. B) Chastity is a very pretty name and C) Gardevoir is one of my favorite pokemon because she is elegant, beautiful and a powerful fighter-not a sex icon.
She was hatched on the Battle Resort in Omega Ruby with only 10 brothers in sisters before her. Her parents were a Japanese Gallade and a Spanish Gardevoir.

More fun hair from Chastity. I think she's better without the stick legs myself. Also, RE: Name Origin section: Boy tell me about it. Granted, I don't follow the Ralts line that strongly, even if I do have a couple of very much underused characters within it (and Kirlia would be my favorite overall), but you don't even have to try all that hard to find what you're talking about and it tends to repel me away from the line because of it.
A character can be cute/pretty/lovely without being a sex icon as you put it, I've got zero problems there. Character design and character purpose are two different things. The former provides some much needed variation of species. Not a fan of the *abuse* of the latter, though, but I can appreciate tongue-in-cheek jokes/fun poking.
If anything, I think going a sillier route makes Gardevoir far more interesting to me. I remember doing an art trade with someone's rather loopy Gardevoir, and it was fun.
Ah well, I rambled enough. That point just stuck out to me because I truly get it. ;_; Also Chastity has a neat design and and nice name, too.
