My sister at Otakon this year. She was a human version of the Tardis from Doctor Who, and we took this picture in the fountain area next to the amazing Dalek someone had made. Needless to say, it was pretty dang awesome.This costume was a big challenge for both of us. I'd never made a successful corset before, and she doesn't really like to sew. However, after scouring the internet for patterns and tips, we ended up making our own pattern to custom fit her, and, as you can see, it fits her like a glove. It also stayed together for the entire weekend without requiring repair, which was awesome. Her hat also has a light that flashes.
We worked really hard, and I think it paid off. Everyone who saw her at the convention told her she was the best Tardis there, and, in my honest opinion, I have to agree. I'm proud of how this came out, and I'm glad everyone liked it, too!

So glad you liked it! We worked really hard on it, and I think it came out really well. I think she's planning on being it again next year, but she'll be wandering around with someone dressed as the impala from Supernatural. XD

Ha! It may be a bit strange. . . Her costume was fantastic, though. I'm currently working on throwing together my own TARDIS costume and finding out that it's a lot harder than it looks. Respect points for you guys is through the roof. x3

It was our second attempt at a corset, and we ended up having to make the pattern ourselves because nothing we bought fit. My recommendation is that if you have a sewing buddy, see if they can help you with the fitting part- it always goes better when you can share the work! Good luck with your costume- I'm sure it will look awesome!

Ugh, me too. I think it had something with it being over 100 outside or some such crazy temperature, but thank goodness the AC didn't break/ we didn't have another fire drill. Hope to catch you guys next year, though!

Seriously! I know we do not plan on doing Revelations gear, but we do want to redo the Leo tunic out of a less obnoxious material. We should be at AWA, though.

Sleep is the best way to fight it off. That, and chicken noodle soup. And video games. I recommend all three. Hope you feel better soon!
