Congrats! This is amazing! I like it a lot! Hey, but I would LOVE it if you could help me with my banners and profile picture of my YouTube. It could be any gaming related. I would really appreciate it if you could and I would give you A LOT credit. Thanks!

That is awsome. i do minecaft pics like this to. can you check them out. i also have a couple questions.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1. what program do you use
2. how did you get the smooth textures and lighting.
3. do you use mineways or do you build your worlds block by block.
I hope this isn't to much to ask.
reply if you get the chance

1. I use Blender for all my work (so far).
2. Getting good textures and lighting is mostly just practice. The textures come from the actual Minecraft textures. The lighting was set up manually.
3. I used a Blender-Minecraft importer known as Mineblend, with some patching by me to remove bi-linear filtering on textures.

I used to use blender, But my first animation had a rendering time of like 5 days for a 30 second animation of some water flowing. Thats when i realized I couldn't use blender untill I got a better computer.

I use Blender for the 3D and rendering, and MineBlend to do the importing of Minecraft data.

Would you say its hard to get into/understand?

It has a steep learning curve, as with most complex software. It won't be hard if you start by first learning the basics and work up from there, and you must be persistent in learning and not give up. I've been using it for a couple years, and after getting over the learning curve, it became easy to use.
Just be persistent and don't expect to be able to produce glorious stills and animations within a week, but expect that after a year or two (maybe three, maybe less, depending on your persistence).

Uh, wow... I am fully prepared on using time on it,
so that isn't the problem.
Did you watch any good basic tutorials?
If so, can you recommend me some?

All the tutorials I used to learn are now outdated. I would suggest just Searching "blender tutorial" across the Internet. I strongly suggest searching on YouTube or on Vimeo because the added visual helps you better understand what you are learning (it greatly helped me). Make sure any tutorials you use are of Blender's newer versions (2.50 or newer) because a lot of old ones still litter the Internet and won't be as helpful as up-to-date ones.
Blender also has an extremely active user community because of its nature as free software. There are many forums for Blender (this [link] being the one I usually use), and also an IRC channel if you want to chat there.

It's Blender. Thanks for the joy. The animation could be months away, so we'll find out, I guess.
