I guess you could say it was love at first sight. Ever since the very first trailer at the end of Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone, I was very interested in the mysterious, glasses-clad girl. Now that I had the pleasure of watching Evangelion 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance (first showing at that!), Mari has established herself as my new favorite Evangelion character from the very first scene. She is a big enough reason just to watch it again. :3

I went out of my way to buy the latest Newtype magazine just so I could get my hands on the Kaiyodo Mari figure that came with it. It is surprisingly detailed in general but the face sculpt is absolutely well done.
