- Wisdom - Listening to the teachings of the elders in her village and her mother, she became very wise beyond her years. The spirituality of bending is in her; although not strong physically, she can apply wisdom to most situations.
- Tranquility - Being a shy child, raised by a loving and calm Mother and Father, meant that Aiyana grew to be a calm, tranquil and understanding young girl, never quick to anger or to resort to violence.
- Dexterity - Her largest weakness being her strength, (both physically and with bending), she became good with her hands. She is quick and hard to catch, with gymnastic ability (although she is not especially gifted in that aspect, just good). Almost entirely used for running away or hiding, she is not one to head into a conflict purposefully.

P e r s o n a l i t y
A calm, quiet, and inquisitive young girl, Aiyana takes pleasure in studying from scrolls and listening to the stories of her elders. She seems much older than her age, mentally, although her body is weak and small. She will seek the answers and the reasons behind people's actions, and will never see their bad side, which often lands her into trouble in Republic City. Because, and she has to learn, not everyone has a good side that can be brought out by a 17 year old girl. She takes great pleasure in bending, and would sit by herself with a puddle of water for hours when living in the Northern tribe.

✖ Violence, rude people, hotheadedness/arrogance/stubbornness, loud noises

"Make sure you're back in time for dinner!" her Mother said with a knowing smile. Aiyana had never been later for dinner.
"I won't be late, I promise," she replied, leaving the front steps of her small home in the city and heading straight for the park.
Her mind wandered while she walked, as it so often did, and she quickly found herself at her favourite spot; on the banks of that beautiful azure stream in the middle of the expansive park. She sat down with a content little grin on her face, pulling out her favourite old scroll from her bag, and fingering the edges lightly. It had been given to her by her Mother's Mother, on the day they were set to leave their tribe for the city. She fondly remembered the way she had cried quietly into her Grandmother's dense woollen coat, clinging on so hard that her Father would have had to remove her by force, if it hadn't been for her Grandmother's soft words.
"There there, dear" the wise old bender had said. "Take this, and you'll never be far from me".
Being careful not to damage the scroll in any way, Aiyana laid it out on the bank and began to read it again. She knew the scroll by heart already, but reading it made her feel at peace. She soon began practicing the ancient bending techniques written on that old parchment, if a little more relaxed and casual than if she were training. She played with the water in the air, making twisting and meandering movements with the glistening water droplets, bending them over her cool skin and letting the water run between her fingers. She was happy.

A d d . I n f o
- Born to a Water bender Mother, and a non-bender Father
- Her Father had an interest in adventuring before she was born, and found himself falling in love with a woman in the Northern Water Tribe. When their daughter was at the age of five, her Grandmother (Father's Mother) became ill and the small family had to relocate back to Republic City in order to take care of the elderly woman. Her Grandmother is still alive.
- At first they found it hard to adjust to the strangely modern style of the city, and the rowdiness of some of its residents. Aiyana, while fitting in here more than her Mother, has adapted well to the city, but still feels misplaced.
- Can understand the views of the Equalists, although not their sometimes-violent nature. As such, she will never use her powers against a non-bender - a respect she has learned from growing up with her Father.
- Her gilet was made by her mother out of the hides of animals. She used to wear it when she was the same age as Aiyana, and thus gifted her with it.
