Me overall experimenting during some lagging times. It looks neat in my opjnion. It has some great tones to it in life and makes some really nifty thumbnails I discovered.Edit Feb 2006, reuploaded a nicer jpeg, still has a good little bit of graphite glare, and now a slight blue tint which is interesting. I was working on a very dark monitor all thoes years, and now with a nicer monitor everything looks faded and grey. Not cool. I still like this guy, made when I was 16/17. I havnt worked in that technique for a while.

...more watery acrylic, but it does the same thing. Thicker bits of acrylic here and there.

Have to say, I like the approach and the soft colors are great. I wish I could add more, but the background is particularly stunning, especially the subtle and frequent shifts in tone.

It really is brilliant!
Like a cross between a more modern bird and a dinosaur: it has scaly flesh and feathered wings.
Love the details on the neck and face.
Unlike others I don't get the sensation of being scared....The eyes doesn't convey that sense, it's eye is wide and kinda looking up at an angle, so I get more the impression of it showing off or calling another to it.
But that's tidbits and this artwork is really great!

Beautiful observation! Wow - I learned something neat on that, the eye thing. Sorry for the randomness, but a lot of people don't give explanations for why they think something looks 'scary' or what have you. And I agree - the animal does look more like it's displaying or something, though the pose is very convincing of aggression or aggravation of some sort. Brilliant! ^^

Very nice shading and colors here....looks stunning both in the thumbnail and the big version. The greys and mauves are very pleasing. I wouldn't have thought to use those colors on a dragon, but they work!!
I just wish it was a bit bigger so we can see the details! They're a bit fuzzy and small...bummer. I bet it looks spectacular in real life.
