Hey everyone out there! ^_^Autumn holidays and instead of finishing my research paper for school i am drawing.... *roll eyes*
Actually I am quite happy about this drawing. I love freckles!
...what do you think about it? Please comment and give me some feedback. I would love to improve my work. (and sorry for the quality...scanner always makes it look not as nice as in real :/ )
Well, what did I use this time? I am always using the same stuff....Lets see whats on my desk....so:
0.35 b mechanical pencil, 2b pencil, 8b pencil, hb pencil. Apart from my fav graphic pencils i also used soft eraser, rubber pencil (or how was that thing called?? ^^ ), tissues, Q-tips...yer, think thats all.

that's right. the freckles were a lot of work...but i loved it and enjoyed to draw every single one of them!

I love freckles too. I saw this one while browing and clicked immediately when I saw the frecles.
There are some deviations from the reference (eyes are set narrower, eyebrows have smoother curves and the cheecks are more full) but she ended up looking pretty so no problem there. The real problem with this drawing is that you forgot shading her face when working on the frecles. Her face is textureless despite the frecles, I don't know if I'm the only one but I had the feeling her face was translucent and the frecles were actually the background. Her eyes are so alive and bright on that irreguler and somewhat blurred mass of texture, it is as if we focused on the eyes and the frecles were actually waaaay behind and out of focus. I think everything can still be fixed on this otherwise wonderful drawing if you shaded her face and gave us a proper sense of depth.

thank you so much for the feedback. while drawing i did a mistake that is right. i should have shaded first and then draw the freckles...but never mind. and i think the reason why the eyes are the center of attention is because i love to draw eyes...and i always try to make them look perfect (more than the other parts in a face)

...to my defence i can say that the quality of this drawing is way better in real and the contrast as well. when scanning a lot of details get lost. nevertheless u were totally right with ur critique ^_^

If you're looking for feedback...all I can comment on is the chin looks a little short compared to the width of the face. But other than that, it looks awesome!

I have millions of freckles and when it comes to doing self portraits in art class it looks like badly done pointilsm. This peice is absolulty amazing i love the detail and the eyes are STUNNING! . I LOVE IT

looks like the picture is actually studying me. the only thing i might have done is put freckles on the arms.people with that many freckles on the face have them on their arms.but other wise it is absolutely awsome. great job.

Personally I would not have drawn the two tiny hairs on her fore-head. At least they now kind of irritate me and are the only thing that really came into my mind.

Hey this looks gorgeous!
I like the freckles too! You did a great job here as they are very difficult to draw.
I did a Β΄freckelsΒ΄drawing as well [link] and worked a lot with the paper stump (tortillon) and the kneaded eraser to get them right.
I love the way you did the eyes and the mouth here. It is a vey expresive drawing with great beauty!
