I like the cuisine, their language, their traditions, and I think their history is interesting. Anime/manga/video games aside (although I like those too, they're not the one reason why I like Japan).

I don't think it's the greatest country in the world either. I know it has its share of problems.

Orange/terriaki chicken with rice is fantastic <3
But I hate everything else, I would never want to go there. Their cities seem overpopulated with people trying to sell you stuff. :/

Japan, like all countries, has its own unique culture and contributions to offer to the world.

However, I also don't get why people put it on a pedestal.

I don't mind if you're someone who's dying to learn the language or someone who is sincerely interested in visiting the country (I'm the same with Germany, but that's another point)

But the otakus who think that the only thing Japan had is anime kind of drive me crazy.

Ok, Japan makes the latest technoligy (lol idk if I spelled that right) The car company ''Honda'' is from Japan. Also, Japan is the center of Anime, which is a very, VERY popular style of art. I bet you see it everywhere. In America, a lot of shows are anime. Even movies that a lot of people love were made in Japan. So that's basically the answer to that stamp!!! lol

I agree, it's irritating. Just the other day my friend said "I LOVE JAPAN." and had this shirt with Naruto on it and these weird pants that had Japanese language and... IDK my friends are weird but.
