Mara's saber is purple, it was only blue for a short time when Luke gave his old one to her.

The only source for her using a purple saber post-Empire is from the "Mysteries of the Sith" video game from the 90s. More often that not, as a Jedi, she used the blue bladed saber that Luke gave her.
But no matter. You've chosen to portray her as a Jedi with a purple saber. While I disagree (and a lot of other fan art of Jedi!Mara would, as well), it's still an exceptional piece of work, and as a viewer I appreciate the fact that you went the "Jedi" route, rather than the over-sexed, leather-clad incarnations that we so often see around these parts. She's fierce and beautiful.

I'm glad you like the piece though, I do agree that there's been too many versions of her in the leather clad outfit. Unfortunately every time you read the books or look at the promo material for Mara, she's always in that outfit. I wanted to present her as a Jedi Master, not the adventurer.

That's fine if you disagree, fan art is not official canon and is everyone's personal take on a character. However every reference photo of model Shannon McRandle as Mara from Wizards of the Coast games has her with a purple lightsaber and that has been the official take on her. The books also state that as well, Hasbro has switched back and forth based on the design of her for whatever time period the figure is based off of.
