Description A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Quinn Shara, a Force-sensitive teenager, struggles with the monotony of life on a backwater world, she craves a greater meaning in life as the rest of the Galaxy passes her by, she may well find that meaning however, as she crosses paths with Isabelle Devon, the leader of a fledgling rebel group. Will the ambitious young girl seize the opportunity to finally take charge of her destiny, and pursue her dream of becoming a Jedi?

Cover Page (Start + Description)
Previous page  -- Next page

Page fifteen on my Staw Wars OC AU fan-comic-thingy!

With the previous day's haul boxed up Quinn's eager to head into market, so eager in fact she skipped her breakfast, much to Yana's dismay, as she'd wanted her to pick up some flowers that she really likes, blue Orchids are a rare import, and they'd look great in the empty flower vase in the kitchen! Besides that, Yana worries for Quinn, especially when she skips meals, but she always makes sure Quinn has a meal waiting at the end of the day. ;w;

Quinn herself is piloting a mini repulsor-sled belonging to Yana, such vehicles are very common on Da'hren, who's economy is heavily driven by the salvage trade.
It's always fun to draw Quinn, especially young, pre-rebel Quinn, there's a naivety to her that I just love. ;w; This page was really fun as well because it hints at something very significant, which I'm sure folks who follow my OCs will get right away, and also I got to joke around too in the last panel. XD

Anyway that's that, next page is almost ready to colour, hope you enjoyed this one, feedback is very much appreciated!

Okay this is adorable.

It starts out beautifully with that sky view, you really excel at that pastel shade of pink there.

And you know for whatever reason, whenever I see Yana things just feel really warm, she's such a concerned mother and you can really see that she's worried about Quinn...also that is the most adorable little kid there!

Poor Quinn though hehe, all hungry like!

Love the Jawa, it's just looking at this kid like: "bitch, what you say?"

Heheheh, I'm very glad you like it!

Aye, that's one thing I really like about Da'hren, it's harsh landscape is contrasted by an often beautiful sky. ^_^

I really love Yana, she's a huge influence on Quinn, it's important to me to show that, I also think the colour pallet helps too, the warm yellows, oranges, and browns, the blush, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but character design can help us relate on a subconscious level. Heheh, blame the Clone Wars for making Togrutas adorable. XD

Indeed, though honestly that was me when I was young, I didn't really care for breakfast...

Heheheh, I couldn't resist, I wanted a Star Wars equivalent for "Early bird get's the worm", but nothing with Mynocks worked, but I figured since Da'hren is a trade/scavenger society Jawa's would be a good replacement, it's kinda' silly, but eh, it's a bit of fun. XD

You accomplish that contrast with the sky and the terrain wonderfully.

Yeah I can see the influence Yana has on Quinn, it's very evident especially later on in her life as she grows older...and yes, I see what you mean about Yana. You're a very fiendish Englishman to design a character like that with such a subliminal display!

And yes, that baby Togruta is too darned cute!

Oh I loved breakfast as a kid, it's only as an adult that I've started skipping breakfast, just not enough time between home and work.

It's really very clever honestly, I would not have thought to do something like that, it's certainly very entertaining to see the Jawa reacting to it as well!

I love that sky And looks so pretty <3 The way you colored shade and skin in general is quite beautiful.

Hehe, this scene makes me think something is about to go down :3

Heheheh, Whilst the surface of Da'hren may be be a wasteland littered with ruins from the Clone Wars, it's skies can be beautiful, largely thanks to the gas giant J'hen, when the sun filters through the outer clouds it can turn Da'hren's skies a brilliant pastel pink, this sometimes occurs during sunrise and sunset, and is more frequent the denser J'hen's clouds. Ah, thank you very much, I really appreciate it, I really started to change how I coloured when I started working with my Star Wars OCs, especially how I coloured skin, I tend to blend more softly, where as I used to use really hard shade, I don't hate how I used to shade like, but I much prefer the softer shading, it has a more warmer feel I think. ^w^

Heheheh, it probably does have that "they've said what could possible go wrong? and now EVERYTHING is gonna go wrong" feel to it, but honestly, what could possibly go wrong...?

Another brilliant page, as per usual. I know I'm a little biased but when I saw the Mandalorian in the background of the last panel I got a little excited.

You NEED to do a comic of Quinn visiting Yana again and showing her Orchid. That would be amazing

It just occurred to me that Jawas and Ferengi are not all that dissimilar. Just off the top of my head.

Heheh, I'm not really a massive Trekkie, but yeah, that certainly seems the case.

DeviantArtest99 In reply to SithPostsArt [2015-10-23 16:44:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, you don't need to be a Trekkie to know that while the Ferengi have more screen time, people had a better reaction to the Jawas upon first appearance. There's also another major difference between the two, but you don't need to know that.

Yup, Da'hren's entire economy is based on scavenging from the old Clone Wars ships that litter it's surface.

SithPostsArt In reply to MarcusStarkiller [2015-10-23 01:25:27 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm, could be some, though the general populace consists of migrants, looking to score big picking the wrecks from the war, it's a very diverse place, largely overlooked by the Empire.

It's likely that there are some, they'd certainly have uses, assisting with the day to day, though the vast majority are either scrapped, recycled for parts, or even used for other things, as the next page (which is almost finished) will show.
