I love the pose. Dashie herself has a good pose, perfect color and great shading. you did a great MLP Style drawing and for the Valentine event, this is perfect. You could improve this by making the feathers a BIT smoother and maybe the ear A bit starighter. Dashie has straight eyelashes.. so you could make them a bit more straight than you did in this drawing, but this is a good drawing I've never been good in dA muro... so I really don't know what tools you can use to improve but if you have a Splatter or Dragon pack you could do much more designs for maybe the shading.

Cause i prefer to be hated for what i am than loved for what I'm not.
I rather be alone that a shattered man who's heart has been broken to the point theirs nothing left to break.
Rather than feeling i have an obligation to someone to do this and that for them to feel "loved" I rather be looked down upon as the person who never met someone.
These feelings are what make me what I am today and by no means whatsoever will i ever submit to a lie that other so easily believe in....
