Description

Serious-minded and ambitious, this warrior gave up her prior identity of Junko Jōgasaki to become Jōshōki (上昇鬼, "Rising Demon"), an oni trained in the way of the Ongekikan. Despite her straight-laced and focused personality, she maintains a close bond with her former master, the eccentric and laid-back Sukaki (主火鬼, "Master Fire Demon"). Jōshōki accesses her oni form with the Henshin Onibue Onashi ("Transformation Demon Flute Sound Reed"); in battle, she wields the Ongekikan Kōkiatsu ("Sound Attack Tube High Pressure"), an oversized shotgun-like weapon that can be converted into an Ongeki Mode resembling a saxophone.

Full disclosure, I haven't actually watched Hibiki - I'm reluctant to watch a show that is, by all accounts, basically unfinished - but I love how unique the designs are and wanted to do something outside of my usual comfort zone; I also loved the idea of a saxophone/shotgun combo, and really wanted to make the "Sukaki" joke . Figuring out how to make the shape of a saxophone work as an ongeki weapon was difficult, and I feel like I ended up cheating a bit by adding a secondary "barrel" on the bottom of the saxophone's bow (but who's keeping track?). The "skirt" area was intended to add a bit of visual interest and flair while not diverging as far from the base designs as the Seven Oni from the Hibiki movie did.
